The Dynimic Duo: Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler Ss 2010

Proenza Schouler is truly in blossom. They've harvested their most sought-after fruit, the PS1 bag, and now it's time for a even juicier forbidden treat. The Ss2010 specially shows their talents in playing around the most vibrant and complicated color pallets. You can totally see Carrie Bradshaw wearing every piece from the collection in the well anticipated Sex and the City II. I specially like the scuba-inspired silhouette. White tank-top with a sculpted black blazer, that's what I call effortless chic. I feel stupid to describe something that obvious... the pictures says it all
I included a picture for the dynamic duo because one of them reminds me the mighty Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory and also the ever unsolved question:" why can't designers just stand there and take a bow after their shows? What's the rush to run back into the backstage? "
We've seen so many funny pictures when designers trying to make a bolt .. ..
But on second thought, if I was the designer, I'd bolted even more quick because THAT'S WHAT COOL PEOPLE DO! DEAL WITH IT!

P.S. I'm not expecting a men's line pretty soon but I am getting pissed with the waiting for a PS1 Homme $-$ You two better hurry!

PS1 bags are available for purchase at Barneys.com

Don't Buy 3.1 Phillip Lim at TheCorner Unless You Have To

3.1 Phillip Lim SS2010

I tried on this light-weight knit cardigan at NYC Phillipp lim store at SOHO and was very much loving it. But they only had a Medium left. So I turned to the emerging almighty website TheCorner and only to find out that they priced the exactly same cardigan at $469 when it really should be $269 in the States. Surprisingly, all items for Phillip Lim and some other names were also 30% to 50% overpriced than normal distributors. There's definitely VAT (Value Added Tax) included since it's a website that actually located in Europe and ships worldwide. But still it doesn't make sense to charge 30% to 50% more.

Americans' life pumps by the heartbeats of internet. People that stay long enough at the Great American, like me, will be infected by this "congenital disease". I still remember how people like me suffered when ELuxury was shut down. Clearly my general contribution was not enough for them to hang in there and to see the coming the revitalization of American economy.People live in NYC or LA might have survived but no physical stores have the ability to carry as many distinguish names as on-line store does. TheCorner is a great place to shop, but still it's not intimate and convenient enough for people live in the States. Most importantly, the names they carry are too pretentious that people like to browse through but never actually buy anything. Maybe it's time for me to move to New York or maybe I'll have to move to New York... ...

Maison Martin Margiela Broken CD Sweat Shirt

Why Do All Good Things Come To An End?

I hated the movie <2012> because it is so badly plotted and "animated". I've been sort of a "drama king" who can easily be deceived and fooled by fictions. I might never shed a tear for things that are happening in real life, but I'm somehow so easily touched by movies and music. Nevertheless, I was not even a bit touched by <2012>. It was like paying money to let someone ridiculing about how stupid and naive you are. The civilization might come to an end but the things really frustrated me are those happening right now: McQueen's death, Margiela's leaving, Balenciaga's fall out, and Blogger 00 o 00's stop blogging. Fashion is so illusory to follow and I wonder how long the passion lasts? The good things might come to and end for various reasons, but they can all be categorized as "being sick of what we are doing". The sweatshirt is a piece from Margiela's last collection and the broken disc must have portrayed how Margiela and many of us recently feel: sick sick sick and "BREAK"!

Maigiela's collection are sold at www.thecorner.com
(see, I'm still passionate about shopping. That'll help me survive for a while)

Fashionable Gadget: Olympus e-p1 Pen Camera

When you're hopelessly hooked by so called "fashion", you have a tendency to require everything to be fashionable around you; your friends, and even your little gadgets. I've been longing for a digital camera that is both utility and good-looking:) Finally, I found the Olympus e-p1 Digital Pen camera. With its micro four thirds technology thing-y, the image quality is as superb as DSLR's, but the camera is much lighter and prettier. White steel body with beige (one of my favorite colors) leather pad and black lens cap and silver lens; it's "custom made" for fashionisto and -ta like us!

It has nothing to do with Chanel and the ribbon was sort of a decoration when I received it as my V day's gift (from myself, of course). But they definitely should consider co-op with Chanel and to come up with a black version with white leather pad. The white version has limited quantities so if you want one, act fast.
Recommended retailer: www.amazon.com

If you're even more serious with image quality and fashion, you should consider the Limited edition Leica M9 by Hermes. It is so expensive that I don't even bother to look up the price!

Intimate Outer Space Life: Balenciaga F/W 2010

Balenciaga F/W 2010 RTW

A smart designer is the one who knows the limit of his audience and Nicholas sure knows when and how to spice things up for some new sensations. While we're just starting to feel a bit bored by his icy sharp outer space uniforms, he brought us the 2010 SS and this 2010 FW with vibrant colors and comfy materials. It's awakening and comforting. It's like dogs finally got their color blindness fixed and realized "what a wonderful world" they've been living in. We need soothing comfort, but we're definitely not ready to give up the "super coolness" of futurism. The future life of human at outer space finally got an happy ending.

Here Come the 2010 Spring Summer PRADA Fairies

PRADA Spring Summer 2010

While we're still under the spell of the 2008 PRADA fairies, those enchanted wood-nymph with silk-printed tunics, here come the 2010 PRADA fairies and this time with sparkling diamond wings. Sex difference has becoming very blurry in our age, especially in fashion. Throughout the decades, Miuccia Prada has incorporated many feminine garments into men's fashion. But in the meantime, she also successfully preserved the limited pure feminism. The silky-prints and diamonds are the only exclusive playground left for feminism and I'll be so disgusted to see any man blemish those elements. Call me orthodox or whatever. Some material and accessories just shouldn't appear on a man. Step aside weirdo, let the fairies have their fun!
